The MANAGEMENT of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) is a priority for AMWAJ Catering Services.
All QHSE activities in AMWAJ are managed through a framework which includes a Quality, Food Safety, Health and Safety Policy and a Food Safety and Health & Safety Management Systems.
In Amwaj, QHSE is recognized as a line responsibility and QHSE issues are implemented through the involvement of all staff - right from the Managing Director to the lowest level of staff.
The AMWAJ Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) are based on stringent National and International standards. It is a risk based system and includes a comprehensive range of mandatory requirements to provide a framework for self-regulation and continuous improvement in performance. It is implemented systematically through a Food Safety and Health and Safety Action Planning process.
All AMWAJ Divisions develop Annual QHSE Action plans for implementing various QHSE actions. These actions are translated into tasks and targets and are cascaded down the organization. Progress is regularly reviewed and monitored. An important feature of the Divisional Action Plans is that they contain action items that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound), with each action item being assigned to an individual or team. The HSE Plan also includes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Food Safety and HSE Audits, Training Plans.
To assure that the Food Safety and Health & Safety Systems are effective and functioning, AMWAJ has an Auditing program in place comprising of different levels of audits. The remedial actions that result from the audits are tracked to final completion through a close-out process. Through this structured approach, the efforts of individuals are directed towards realizing the Amwaj Vision.
AMWAJ recognizes that its QHSE objectives can only be achieve with effective communication. AMWAJ management guarantees proper and timely communication of QHSE matters in all locations of the Projects.
Regular HSE interface meetings are carried out between Client, AMWAJ and internally. Proper roles and responsibilities are involved at the different levels of HSE meeting; never exclude participation and information of higher management levels. AMWAJ ensuring that his personnel can suggest improvement in HSE matters to management and assessing regularly the clarity of HSE Communication.
AMWAJ utilized numerous mediums to educate, raise HSE awareness, motivate and stipulate participation. These include: HSE training; Safety news, Bulletins and posters; Tool box meetings, monthly HSE Meetings, Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessment, specific Meetings and courses.
AMWAJ ensures that its operations are continually monitored for HSE incidents. Incidents are investigated and reported in accordance with those criteria. Where applicable complete investigations are done of incidents utilizing the cause / Root Cause concept of investigation and communicate to all employees at HSE Meetings.

AMWAJ Catering is certified with the following:
1- (OHSAS 18001:2007) occupational health and safety management systems requirements “Swiss Accreditation “

2- (ISO 22000:2005) Food safety management systems requirements for any organization in the food chain.

AMWAJ is the only catering establishment in Qatar to receive the ISO 22000: 2005 certified by UKAS. (United Kingdom Accreditation Service)
3- (HACCP CODEX ALIMENTARIUS) Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points approach to food safety management.
